Event Description
Buwagga School is a growing school in rural Uganda founded on the importance of accessible quality education, providing opportunities to the rural poor who otherwise would not attend secondary school, especially the female students. One of the school's objectives is to develop its science and vocational studies. Rural schools are often forced to cut costs by omitting science class.
All of the funds raised at MAA's event, Check your Science, will go to the Buwagga School science program. A school science laboratory will enable the school to offer science following the Ugandan curriculum, with the future goal of offering advanced-level science, comparable to the UK's A-level, which is necessary for opening the door for students to various career choices.
